Admissions
We are delighted that you are considering Thamesview School. We are very proud of our school and amazing students. This admission section shows how you can apply to join our school community.
There are three entry points for admission into Thamesview.
- Admission into Year 7
- In-Year Admissions – Year 7 to 11
- Sixth Form - For details of Sixth Form Admission, please see our Sixth Form section of the website.
We admit students from Years 7–13; please read our admissions arrangements in the links below. For further details please contact the school direct or Kent County Council admissions team on 03000 41 21 21 or email kentonlineadmissions@kent.gov.uk.
Admissions into Year 7
You must apply for a secondary school place for your child to start year 7 at secondary school. You will need to do this when your child is in year 6 at primary school.
For children starting year 7 in September 2026 applications open on Monday 1 September 2025 and will close on Friday 31 October 2025.
You can apply for up to 4 schools.
-
Put the schools in the order of preference.
-
It is in your best interest to list 4 schools.
-
Naming only one school does not guarantee your child a place or give priority for a place over another child.
-
You are not able to name the same school more than once.
To apply for a school outside of Kent, name the school in your application with other preferences. Your application details will be passed on to the relevant local authority for processing.
Applications are processed between 1 November 2025 and 1 March 2026 and you will receive your offer on Monday 2nd March 2026.
If you have applied but your circumstances have changed and you need to amend your application, email kentonlineadmissions@kent.gov.uk so they can help you.
Special educational needs and disabilities children
Most children with special educational needs and disabilities can attend mainstream schools, whether or not they have an education health and care (EHC) plan.
If your child has an EHC plan their school placement will be arranged by the Kent County Council SEN Team.
Find out more about applying for a school place for your SEND child.
If your child is already at secondary school and you want to move them to a different school you must apply for an in year admission.
Please see Kent County Council's Guide to Secondary Admissions for 2025 for further information.
Consultation on Admissions Policy for Intake September 2025
As per Kent County Council requirements our Admissions Policy must be consulted on every 7 years. The consultation period is from Tuesday 21st November 2023 and closes on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
Please note the PAN will be 210 going forward. There are no other changes to our Admissions arrangements.

In-Year Admissions
An In Year Admission is a student who wishes to join the school after the start of the school year. If you wish to apply for a place you would need to complete an In Year Admission Form and return it to admission team on admissions@thamesview.kent.sch.uk. The School will respond by post within 5 school days with a decision.
There is no guarantee that Thamesview School will be able to offer your child a place. If no place is available, you will be given the opportunity to place your child on the waiting list which is ranked in order of the oversubscription criteria listed on our Admissions Policy. This does not prevent parents from exercising their right to appeal against the decision not to offer a place.
Appeals
To lodge an appeal for any year group, please submit a Secondary School Appeal Form.
Kent County Council will then contact you directly with an Appeals hearing date.
