NHS - HPV Immunisations for Year 8 Students
Posted on: 22.01.26The NHS Immunisations Team will be with us on Thursday February 12th 2026 to invite all Year 8 students to be vaccinated against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
The HPV vaccine helps protect boys and girls against certain cancers which can be caused by the HPV infection.
These include:
• Some mouth and throat cancers.
• Cervical cancer.
• Cancers of the penis and genital area
• Genital warts.
The HPV vaccination is now given as a single dose which gives long-lasting protection. Further information about this vaccine is available from https://family.kentcht.nhs.uk/teenimms.
