New Ordering and Payment Service for School Meals

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to you to give you more details regarding the new online ordering and payments service we have set up for school meals next year.

The school canteen will be open for breakfast, break time snacks and lunches for the duration of the year, however due to the latest government guidance for schools reopening, we are unable to allow students to access the canteen as normal throughout the day.

Where possible, we would encourage students to bring a packed lunch to school, however if your child does require any of the above meal options there is now a new online ordering and payment service. This enables you to order any of the above for your child in advance and these will be delivered to student year group bubbles by school staff.

The menu for school meals (please see document attached) is based on a two week rota and parents are now able to order any items from this menu using the online ordering system at the link below:

Once you have submitted your order, this information is then sent directly through to the school canteen, who will prepare the order for your child(ren). The full cost of each food order will also be shown on the form before this is submitted, so parents will be able to see exactly how much each day/week will cost in advance.

Please note, that in order to offer this service effectively, all food orders should be submitted to the school a week in advance. For example food orders for the week commencing the 7th September 2020 should be submitted by Friday 4th September 2020 at the latest.

In order to pay for the meals and snacks you have chosen, we have added a new section to our ParentMail app which allows you to add the required funds to your child’s school meals account using a debit/credit card. Your child’s daily food cost will then be deducted from their overall balance when they have a school meal by the canteen staff.

Please note, it is of high importance that we continue to have up to date contact details for you, including

  • a home telephone/mobile number
  • email address which you regularly access.

If your contact details have changed, please contact the school office or your child’s Welfare Manager urgently to update your details.

If you require support with setting up the online system, please contact your child’s Welfare Manager, who will be available from 1st September.

If your child usually receives free school meals, then please order their breakfast and lunch using the online ordering system, however you will not be required to add any funds to their account.

If you do not have Internet facilities, please complete the paper based ordering form (attached) and send this to school office along with the correct payment by 1st September 2020, in order for this to be passed to the canteen staff. As per online ordering paper based forms and payment will need to be received one week in advance.

Lastly, Due to the significant amount of changes taking place at the start of next term, we appreciate there may be times when your child forgets their packed lunch or you forget to order food form the canteen. If this happens then please contact the school office or your child’s Welfare Manager as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements for the day.
