We will be holding a Welcome Back Bake Sale at the beginning of Term 6!  Bring your coins, all proceeds will be going towards Enrichment Activities within the school. Wednesday 4th June 10:15 - 11:35am  

Parents please be aware that the Kent NHS Immunisation team will be visiting the school on the below dates: Monday 7th July and Tuesday 8th July 2025 They will be administering the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine to students in Year 8 and any students in Year 9, 10 and 11 who may have missed their opportunity to have the vaccine previously.  Please look out for the email which will be sent out in due course, which will have a link to the NHS form in order to give, or not give, parental consent for your child to have this vaccine.

The Youth Sport Trust is the UK’s leading children's charity ​for improving the education and development of every child through play and sport. The Youth Sport Trust equips educators and empowers young people to create a future where every child enjoys the life-changing benefits of play and sport.  The 'Girls Active' programme supports schools to gain student insight to understand participation levels, attitudes, motivations and barriers to participation.  Parents, please encourage your child (girls and boys) to complete the Thamesview School survey below: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/yst-ga-25?u=aj2lu By age 7, girls are already less active than boys and this disparity widens as they move from childhood into adolescence. Adolescent girls are more likely to experience barriers to participation than boys with the biggest drop-off occurring during the transition from primary to secondary school. At this time there are multiple factors that affect girls’ participation including disruption to friendship groups, the onset of puberty and declining body confidence and the increasing need to ‘fit in’ and be accepted amongst their peers. Last week four of our wonderful Year 9 students took part to represent TVS at the 'Girls in IT Challenge Day' at Greenwich University.  The event was arranged and hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Science, at the University.  The day was designed to inspire the next generation of female problem solvers, creators and innovators by tasking the students to work in a team to tackle existing challenges and compete for a prize.  Our TVS girls came up with some great ideas for a mobile app aiming at improving body confidence, and with this they came second in the competition - congratulations to them for a fabulous achievement and idea!

Parents - please save the date for our Friends of Thamesview Launch Meeting!  On Friday 9th May 2025 we are hosting our first Friends of Thamesview Parent Association meeting. This will take place after school, from 3:15pm until 4:30pm.  If you are interested in being part of our school community and supporting events and activities at your child's school, please come along to hear more about how you can help! There are many reasons why you should join our Friends of Thamesview Parent Association. From making new friends and getting to know the school environment, through to helping to raise much needed funds and making a difference to the students and school community. Friends of Thamesview Parent Association aims to contribute to a school culture where every students has access to high quality educational opportunities and the encouragement to aim high in pursuit of their aspirations. Together, as a united parent body, the Friends of Thamesview Parents Association aims to support TVS in it's commitment to ensuring that all students Believe, Achieve and Succeed.  We look forward to welcoming you all to the school next Friday, and discussing the many exciting opportunities and new ideas that we have planned for the near future and beyond.

During Term 6 we will be holding our annual Thamesview Sports Day. This will be taking place on the Friday 11th July 2025. Please see below for details of the Sporting Activities and Athletics Events which your child can sign up to take part in. As well as these events, we also hold other activities on site for those students who wish to do something slightly different. These will include: art, creative writing, a Playstation FIFA competition, film, food, business, 'History of The Strongman', mindfulness colouring, sign language, laser tag, dance, drama, music and crochet.  For the athletics events, students need to sign up with their Head of Year during form time. For all other activities they need to sign up at the PE office either before school, after school, or during their break and lunch times. Please note: students will need to sign up for Athletics and Sporting Activities before Friday 13th June!
