Year 11 Revision Sessions

Year 11 Student

I found them useful because I didn’t really know how to revise but it has helped me with knowing key words in Science. I really found the house plan technique useful as I will always remember my house plan and so I find it easier to remember content for example in Science I placed Photosynthesis and the lock and key method (enzymes) within my house. This has developed my knowledge and confidence. I will be continuing with the house plan technique and mind maps, I will practice these for twenty minutes, three or four times a week spacing out my revision. To revise at home and also attend the revision sessions put on after school for Food, English and Maths as these are my main ones.

Year 11 Student

I found it really useful; it showed us so many ways to revise that I didn’t know existed. The lotus template and house plans were the most useful techniques that I have started to use. I will continue to use the house plan and making notes from my notes. For making notes from my notes I use this for Science but house plan for Maths. I am revising 3 times a week lasting for one hour at a time. My plan for this term is to focus on History as I am behind in this subject.

Year 11 Student

I found it useful because it gave me ideas on what to use. The Lotus template was the most useful because it will come in handy when my English exams arrive. I use past papers and time myself in Maths. I am spacing my practice now by doing twenty minutes at a time on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Occasionally I use Gojimo during my spare time which is helpful. My focus this term is to make all annotations with the English poems and dedicate twenty minutes of focus time on my revision days on core science.

The session was useful particularly the lotus template as this will help with my English understanding. I have started making notes from my notes and the lotus diagram. I revise on Wednesdays for one hour on different subjects. I need to start preparing a calendar of events to structure my revision. I will do this so that I have a plan for the rest of the term and next term.,

Year 11 Student

The session was good because I learnt new ways to help revise. I liked that we were given the sheets( Revision strategies) I will probably just keep revising the way I have been- using exam questions and reading as I find this works best for me. I did like the lotus diagram, so I might try to use this more.

Year 11 Student

I found the session very good. I have used the lotus diagram already before the session and I liked it. I also use a lot of mind maps which I find helps. I will be trying the house map for key words and quotes.

Year 11 Student

I liked the revision session because it helped me learn some new ways to revise. I have used the lotus diagram but I don’t think it will work for all my subjects, it will work for English like the one you showed and is useful.

Year 11 Student

It was a useful session particularly the lotus template as it got me thinking about setting up my work with content relating to colour. I am setting up my revision notes in mind maps and setting up visual prompts. I am focusing on one subject a week (15-20 minutes a day) focusing currently on Romeo and Juliet.
